Proud to be Filipino.. even though I'm half lol. Don't mind the dumb name.. it's a long story. I prefer to be called SWFM for short, or D.J. Anyways, those 4 pics above are the other 4 drawings i've drawn for those who read the post to the right. >>>

Improvements in my artistic abilities :P

Posted by StarWarsFanMan May. 15, 2008 @ 9:01 PM EDT

Well, NG, long time.. no.. post. lol. Thought I might as well post something while I have free time with NO homework :P

-------------------------------------

The drawing you see below has got a lot of story behind it. Not really, but since all the way back on March 18th, I started a doodle. I was bored during an English class, and I guess I started to stroke my pencil around the bottom of my paper in circular motions. After a minute, a bit of the doodle reminded me of a cloud, and I started to touch up on it. By the end of the period I ended up with a nice looking cloud (and BTW this was when our class were in groups working on a project lol..). My friends liked it, and when I got home I started to draw more.

By the end of the weekend, I had a complete scene of a sunset with clouds in pencil. I liked how it turned out, and friends agreed as well. I decided to draw similar drawings, improving the overal quality with each one. Improvements included colour, erasing lines in the sky for sunbeams, shading to the clouds, and reflections of the clouds on water. Now I kept on drawing these on the bottom of the paper, and cut them where there wasn't color, so the pictures ended up being on strips of paper.

After my fourth one, I finally decided to draw a final drawing.. this time on a full piece of paper. It was a pain to completly finish, but along the way I improved effects, like improvising paint with liquid whiteout for stars. Also, the way I coloured the water completly changed, and looks way better. So, I say I "mastered" cloud drawing.. for now, and this'll be my fifth and final drawing of the "Cloud & Sunset" scheme. I would've put this up earlier, but I don't know what happened.. school was in the way I guess; didn't have enough time to post it. Hope you like it. This drawing took me.. a good week to complete. Best drawing I've ever drawn in my life.. so far.

P.S. don't mind my thumb being in the pic on the top right hand corner.. used my webcam for this and I was centering the picture, and clicked the "Take Snapshot" button without realizing my thumb was there lol. I'll probably just make another shot of it without the thumb in there lol.

Well, see you later NG.
-D.J.
